He was predeceased by : his wife Mary Rooney; his daughters, Mary Rooney (Kathy) and Theresa Matista (Tom); and his brother Bernard Rooney (Babe). He is survived by : his children, Patrick Rooney (Kerri), Betsy Adams (Dan) and Anne Rooney; his grandchildren, Matthew (Donna), Molly, Michael Rooney (AJ), Amy Petersen (Scott), Mia, Gina, Alyssa Matista, Andy (Natalie), Martin Adams and Katie Oien (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Ben, Joe, Angelina, Jack, June Rooney, Karissa, Dylan, Brianna Petersen, Marie, Gabe, Regina, Luke, Sebastian, Jude Adams and Tommy Oien.

“We are sorry we missed the memorial for Francis. We just returned from vacation when we received your message. We will notify other members of the Peter Lassen faculy. Francis was an integral part of our faculty and will be missed. He always attended our reunions. Respectfully, Sharon and Clark Swanson”
