Mildred Louise Jordan Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Louise Jordan (Elk Grove, California), who passed away on June 7, 2021, at the age of 89, Mildred was born May 25th, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to James and Ida Jordan. She received her BA in Early Education from Tennessee State University and her Master’s of Education from the University of La Verne. She was an elementary school teacher with Sac. City Unified for over 20 years. Mildred was a proud member of Phi Delta Kappa and Zeta Phi Beta sororities. She loved to travel and was proud to say that she had visited every continent except for Australia and Antarctica. Mildred was an avid reader and gifted writer. She loved poetry, plays, opera, and jazz and was a loyal supporter of the Arts in Sacramento. Mildred was preceded in death by her son Morris Johnson and brother David Jordan. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her brother Jimmy and sisters Ruby, Cora, and Doris, her children, Deborah, Ronnie, Trish, Ernest, Sabrina, and Jaymee as well as her 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 15th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at 8112 Daisy Hill Dr in Sacramento, 95829.
