He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Peterson; his brother Darryl Peterson (Darcy); his children, Ken Peterson (Lou Ann) and Vicky Ross; his grandchildren, Mavis Peterson, Sonya Calkins, Kendall Ross, Amanda Dubner, Chris Stuart, Derek Basteyns (Jesse), Josh Smith (Theresa), Kaylie Doebel, Shelby Hernandez, Ella and Oliver Hart; and his great grandchildren, Roman, Emmett, Eoin, Athena, Kloey, James and Colton. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fortuna Sunrise Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fortuna Church of Latter Day Saints (1444 Ross Hill Rd, Fortuna, CA 95540-2328).

The family is asking in lieu of flowers to make donations to the American Cancer Society.
