He was predeceased by: his parents, Olive Nelms and Gene Nelms; his sons, Jeffrey and Daniel; and his wife Priscilla.
He is survived by: his sister Donna; his children, Kim Nelms and Greg Nelms; his grandchildren, Levi Olmstead, Jami Kennedy, Braedon Scott, Charlotte Scott, Chip Nelms and Rocco Nelms; his great grandchildren, Hunter Olmstead, Morgan Olmstead, Preston Olmstead, Jordan Erskine, Wyatt Erskine and Mason Erskine; and his great great grandchild Grayson Olmstead. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sister-in-laws, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.
