He was predeceased by: his daughter Trudy Ann; and his sister Caroline Kitong. He is survived by: his wife Emma B. Tondag; his children, Nancy Tondag, Shirley Chew (Raymond) and Daniel A. Tondag, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Marci Gallagher (Thomas), Julie Monahan (Darren), Matthew David Tondag (Vicki) and Shane P. Tunney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
