He was predeceased by: his parents, Engracia Gaitan and Joseph Gaitan Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Carolina Gama Gaitan of August; his daughter Angela Martens (Rick Martens); his grandchildren, Alesha Sohler (Brian Sohler) and Tony Martens (AJ Martens); his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Zachary Martens; his brother Henry Gaitan (Ann Gaitan); and his niece Shirley McCollum (Stanley McCollum).
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Garden Chapel Berge Pappas Smith Chapel of the Angels (40842 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538). A burial will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery (2900 Parker Flats Cut Off Rd, Seaside, CA 93955).
