He is survived by: his wife Linda Zakel (Ayres) of Fremont; his stepchildren, Tammy Pease of Jamestown and Brian Pease (Patricia Euzebio-Pease) of Lodi; his siblings, Lori Zakel (Mark Knowles) of Springfield and Ken Zakel (Angie DeBrosse) of Kettering, Ohio; and his nieces, Megan Knowles (Greg Kucukarslan) of Los Angeles and Marissa Knowles (Chance Stidham) of Springfield, Ohio..
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (2950 Washington Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539).
