We announce the death of Alex Richard Chavarria (Fresno, California), who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Alex will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Chavarria and Lucille Chavarria; his sister Sylvia Delgadillo; his son Alex Leonard Chavarria; and his granddaughter Sydney Leslie.
He is survived by: his siblings, Victor, Gilbert and Rebecca; his wife Irene Medina; his daughters, Cheryl Register and Diana Farmer; and his children-in-law, Richard Register, Jeff Farmer and Mona Chavarria. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings; extended family; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home (836 E Nees Ave, Fresno, CA 93720). A rosary will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery (264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706).
