We announce the death of Carla Rachel Chavez of Fresno, California, born in Watsonville, California, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 55. Carla will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her father Isaac Chavez; her brother-in-law Gary Caldera; and her grandparents, Demetrio, Adela Chavez, Evencio and Apolonia Aja.
She is survived by: her mother Mary Chavez; her sister Sandy Caldera; her nephews, Keegan Caldera, Quinton Caldera and Colton Caldera; her niece Gianna Caldera; and her close friends, Debbie and Ana. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and her church family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Swan Avenue Baptist Church (3135 Swan Ave, Sanger, CA 93657). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Fresno Memorial Gardens (175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706).
