Doreen Laverne Wathen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doreen Laverne Wathen (Fresno, California), who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Johnson and Rosina Johnson; her husband Jack; and her siblings, Patrica Johnson, Larry Johnson and Ron Johnson.

She is survived by: her friends, Linda, Barbara, Carole, Harriet and Irene; her grandchildren, Sadie, Joey Simonson, Nate, Jessie, Hannah, Taylor, Russell, Josh and Zac; her great grandchildren, Lorelie, Matilda, Zeke and Sloane; her children, Gerry Wathen, Mark Wathen (Nancy), Janet Wathen Wright (David), John Wathen (Lori), Eileen Wathen Wilner and Ann Wathen (Skip); and her sisters-in-law, Pat Wathen and Carol Wathen. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 18 nephews and nieces.

The donation of a new SJM Football Stadium Press Box that honored the Family name was one of the ones that she was most proud.
