He was predeceased by: his mother Bess Johnson; his wife Barbara Hord Johnson; his parent O. B. Johnson; and his son Stuart Johnson. He is survived by: his daughter Kellie Abreu (Steve Abreu) of San Francisco, CA; his grandson Nathan; his great grandchild Lucas Johnson of Fresno, CA; his nephew David Hord; his great-nieces, Catherine and Charlotte; his great-nephew Andrew; his niece Barbie Michaelides of Fresno, CA; his cousin Bernie Cole; and his caregivers, Tina, Joslyn, Eileen and O. B..
