She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Richard Byrd Sr. and Pearl Lee Tooks; her son Donald Ray Newsome Jr.; her grandparents, Mary Byrd, Archie Byrd Sr., Venoria Jefferson and Willie Tooks Sr.; and her siblings, Denise Byrd and Jarvis Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, LaShon Newsome of Fresno Ca, Deondrea (Shashonnie Newsome) and Damone Newsome of Fresno Ca; and her sisters, Marsha (Monte Mitchell) of Fresno Ca, Pamela Byrd of Las Vegas and Stephanie Byrd of Fresno Ca. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church (207 E San Joaquin St, Fresno, CA 93706).
