She was predeceased by : her parents, Lennie Martin and Audrey Slaughter Martin; her husbands, Ben Whitson and Peter McCormick; and her brother Milford Martin.

She is survived by : her daughters, Tia Sommers of Glendora, CA and Dawn Mellon of Glendora, CA; her grandchildren, Michelle Sommers of Covina, CA, Douglas Mellon of Atlanta, GA and Nathaniel Olmos of Glendora, CA; and her great grandchildren, Darien Jones of Covina, CA. and Aaliyah Jones of Covina, CA..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lewisburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church (141 Church St, Lewisburg, KY 42256). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
