With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kazuko Karen Makabe of Hacienda Heights, California, who passed away on October 15, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by : her husband Melvin Makabe; and her brothers, Monte (Jean) and Kenny Furuya (Harriet). She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

The family kindly request in lieu of koden and flowers, donations be made in Karen's memory to West Covina Christian Church 1100 E. Cameron Ave., West Covina, CA 91790.
