He is survived by: his significant other Consuelo "Connie" Hope Mendez; his children, Gilbert Acosta, Sidney Mendez, Christy Rodriguez, Patricia Correa and April Valdez; and his close friend Connie. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
