Judith D (Southland) Garrick-Edwards Obituary

Judith (Judy) Garrick- Edwards went to be with the lord on February 2nd, 2022 in Hemet CA, after a three- week battle of Pneumonia due to COVID.
Judy was born on October 24th 1946 to the late Mel and Phyllis (Pfeiffer) Southland in Scobey, MT. She was the second oldest of 4 children. The family lived in Whitetail, MT except for 1 year in Chicago, 1954, where her father attended a Refrigeration school.
After graduating from Flaxville High School in 1964, Judy went to college attending Kinman Business School in Spokane, WA. Shortly after graduating from college, she married her first husband Kenneth Merrill and they lived in Spokane where they had two children, Steven and Kimberley. During the years the kids were in school, Judy worked for the Spokane School District in the kitchen, and she also drove school bus for one year.
After Judy and Ken divorced, Judy along with her children moved to Plentywood, MT in 1982 where she worked at the courthouse till 1987.
Judy met her second husband Arlie Garrick in Plentywood and married in 1987. They lived in San Diego, Utah and later moved to Hemet, CA. Judy worked for the Hemet School district in the kitchen until her retirement. Judy and Arlie spent many summers in Montana where they were able to spend quality time with family and friends and help on the Marlenee Farm during harvest.
After Arlie’s passing, Judy married Ray Edwards, June 30th, 2011.
Judy and Ray had so much fun together. They enjoyed going to the casino, taking trips to see family and friends, they just enjoyed life. Judy always had a trip planned every year, she loved to travel and see new things. Judy had a strong Christian faith and worked at the church, helping with various church activities and had bible study at her home once a week. Judy also loved to sing, and sang in the church choir throughout the years. She loved to play card games and Chicken foot Dominoes. She also enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and always had a puzzle set up to pass the time away. She loved to entertain and would open her home to family and friends for a great meal, and a game of some kind.
Judy is survived by her loving husband Ray, son Steven (Cheri) Merrill of Hawley, MN and her daughter Kimberley (Steve) Schneider of Spokane, WA. Three grandsons’ Jeramy of Hawley, MN, Clayton and Chad of Spokane, WA. She is also survived by three siblings, Bob (Janet) Southland of Plentywood, MT, Tom (Candy) Southland of Scobey, MT and Pat Marlenee of Scobey, MT, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Mel and Phyllis Southland, a niece Melanie Southland, a grandson Tyler Merrill and brother- in law, Lanny Marlenee.
Memorial services will be held on April 16th at 2pm at Hemet Christian Assembly, 602 St John Place, Hemet CA 92543
