She was predeceased by: her parents, James Smith and Beatrice Smith; her children, Noreen Patencio and Robert J. Salgado Jr.; her grandsons, Victor Leyvas and Mohammad Kabeer; her siblings, James Smith Jr., Ernie Smith, Lester Smith and Margaret Smith Valdez; her nephew John Valdez; her niece Teresa Gonzales; and her cousin Helen Jose. She is also survived by nine children, including her four adoptive children.
