He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexandre Avila and Maria Jose Avila; his grandson Emerson Avila-DaRosa; and his son-in-law Kevin Colton. He is survived by: his wife Maria Alice; his daughters, Alice Colton, Mary Avila-DaRosa (Ken) and Elizabeth Diaz (Damien); his grandchildren, Ashley Colbert (Daniel), Andrew Colton (Katelyn), Camille Avila-DaRosa, Jamieson Avila-DaRosa, Audyn Diaz and Donovan Diaz; his great grandchildren, Dawson, Emerie, Ava Colbert, Rilynn and Hadley Colton; and his brother Francisco Avila.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home (870 San Benito St, Hollister, CA 95023). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church (520 College St, Hollister, CA 95023). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Portuguese Hall (695 7th St, Hollister, CA 95023).
