Kamlesh Kumar Obituary

Kamlesh Kumar, age 73, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in Hughson, California. Kamlesh was born on April 4, 1948, to Hanuman and Subadra Lal in Labasa, where he was raised. He met the love of his life, Parmila Kanji, and they got married in Labasa on April 2, 1970.

Kamlesh worked as an exquisite chef in the food service industry and was a Food Service Coordinator for the Stanislaus County Sherriff's Department until he retired in 2012. Kamlesh's passion was in the kitchen. During his career, he made his own line of special masala mixes and was known for being very creative with international dishes. He enjoyed pickling a variety of items. Kam's motto was, "Bring your appetite!". In his free time, he loved watching his favorite football team, the Raiders.

Kamlesh was also a member of his local Hindu Temple.

Kamlesh was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hanuman Lal; his twin brother, Kirti Subrail; and his daughter, Nirupama Kumar.

Kamlesh is survived by his beloved wife, Parmila Kumar; his beloved daughter, Anupama Kumar; his "four-legged children," Prince and Kulfi Rani Kumar; his brother, Hotesh Lal; and his sisters, Tara Singh, Nirmala Singh, Anuradha Chandra, and Praveen Prasad.

A service is being held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 Soderquist Rd., Turlock in the Main Chapel. The family recommends that anyone interested in attending attend online. For all in-person attendees, protective masks are strongly recommended for the health and protection of all those in attendance.
