With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Wieborg of La Mesa, California, born in Ida Grove, Iowa, who passed away on January 25, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James Edward may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Edward touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Wieborg and Nora Wieborg; and his sister Kathleen Sabaliauskas. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Wieborg; his children, Scott Wieborg of Palm Desert, CA, Shelley Vanderhoofven (Ryan Vanderhoofven) of El Cajon, CA and Matthew Wieborg (Stephanie Wieborg) of La Mesa, CA; and his grandchildren, Carter, Cody Vanderhoofven, Shelley, Ryan Vanderhoofven and Sophia Wieborg.
