Alton leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Alton’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Alton will carry forward his memory in their hearts.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Laurie; his son Eric; his stepsons, Kevin and Carl Spaeth (Holly); his grandchildren, Annika, Henrik and Knute Spaeth; and his parents, Wayne Werner and Edith Werner.

Al was a donor to the Sacramento Zoo, and when they asked for donations to buy a scale to weigh a sick mountain lion, Al offered to make one for them.
