She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Kataro Okuda (Wakayama-Ken); her brother Sataro; her son Richard; her parent-in-law Mineyo Matsuda; her sons, Calvin and Paul Okuda; her former spouse Charlene Tsurumoto; her children, Kristen Nicole and Eric James; her husband Kenneth Yamashita; and her children, Kevin Casey, Todd Michael, Avery Fuyoko, Reagan Kimiko, Naomi Olivia and Lexi Amaya Yamashita.
All persons of Japanese ancestry, including American born citizens, were forced to move from the west coast during WWII between 1942-1945 by Executive Order 9066.
