She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Swenson and Lorraine Swenson; her husband William "Bill" Van Tassel; and her sister Beverly Kulberg. She is survived by: her sons, William (Vicki), Robert and Jim (Kim); her stepdaughters, Nancy Lopez (Rick) and Carol Alves (George); her sister Sharon Shultz; and her grandchildren, Nathan Lopez, Brett Lopez, Dustin Alves, Lindsay Gogna (Alves), Jillian Carnes (Van Tassel), Luke Van Tassel, Ellie Van Tassel and Ezra Van Tassel. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Gypsy Bistro (12562 Locke Rd, Lockeford, CA 95237).
