He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Lynn R. Wallis and Monttie Wallis; his sister Monttie Wallis; his half-sisters, Betty Jane Armstrong and Georgie Ann Douglas; and his former wife Joan Smith Wallis.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Wallis; his daughters, Kim Wallis (George Gambetta) of Cloverdale, CA and Katy Wallis of Tumwater, WA; his stepchildren, Kevin Shepard of Lodi, CA, Karen Huntoon (Shane) of Lindale, TX and Janette Crouson of Valley Springs, CA.; his half-siblings, Baron Pierce of Red Bluff, CA, Sean Pierce of Oroville, CA, Cherlynn Phulps (Michael) of Oroville, CA and Glenda Jo Smith of South Carolina; and his stepgrandchildren, Riley Huntoon of Lebanon, OR and Thomas Crouson of Valley Springs, CA..

He was a registered nuclear engineer in the State of California and became a Fellow in the American Nuclear Society in 1996 and inducted into GE Nuclear Energy Engineering (GENE) Hall of Honor for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of nuclear science and engineering.
