She was predeceased by: her parents, Sterling "Bill" Blewett and Esther Blewett Joens (Bischel); her husband Leonard Messer; and her grandson Sterling "Jace" Rieger. She is survived by: her children, Perri Rieger Leitao (Joe Leitao) and Richard "Rick" Rieger (Candy Rieger); her grandchildren, Elizabeth "Anne" Rieger and Brennan Leitao (Madison Leitao); and her great grandchild Lucas Rieger.
