He is survived by: his siblings, Ephraim Nies, Cecila Nies Perterson and Lidia Nies Gunsch; his siblings-in-law, Harold Perterson, Gideon Gunsch, Lidia Nies and Law Alima Nies; and his daughters, Lacinda Buell and Debra Ruonavaara. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, and lots of cousins.
