He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Tolson and Opal Tolson. He is survived by: his sisters, Liz Grady of Murfreesboro, TN and Sandy Keathley (Greg) of Vacaville, CA; and his nephews, Joshua and Carter. He is also survived by many cousins, business associates and friends.

“Ever since meeting Sam in 1980, he's been a great friend, and has left many fond memories. From deep sea fishing out of Fort Bragg, to exploring icy caves near the Oregon border and visiting other TKE Chapters around California, we had plenty of adventures during our college years. We kept in touch over the years and this past summer in Old Sacramento took a long stroll down memory lane. I'll miss Sam. With heartfelt condolences, best wished to Liz and Sandy. Steve Diessner”
