Luella Mae Knowles Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Luella Mae Knowles (Lompoc, California), born in Billings, Montana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 3, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Gross and Isabelle Gross. She is survived by: her husband Charles "Chuck" Knowles; her daughter Michelle "Chelle" Townes; her grandchildren, Sydney Fisher (Alex), Mason Townes (Alexis), Gavin Townes (Cheyanne) and Peyton Townes; her sisters, Kathleen Johnson (Wayne) and Linda Ann; and her brother-in-law Wayne Knowles. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins, extended family, friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary (123 N A St, Lompoc, CA 93436). A prayer was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Mission Club (4300 Club House Rd, Lompoc, CA 93436). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mission Country Club (4300 Club House Rd, Lompoc, CA 93436). A rosary was held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Starbuck Lind Mortuary (123 N A St, Lompoc, CA 93436).
In lieu of flowers or tree donations, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made in her honor to a scholarship fund supporting students entering the teaching profession.
