He was predeceased by : his parents, Peggy Plender and Harold Chastain; his stepmother Lee; his siblings, Harold, Linda and Danny; and his siblings-in-law, Ivan and Linda.

He is survived by : his wife Laura; his children, Jeremy (Anna) and Amy (Sam Munoz); his grandchildren, Emma, Kyle and Madelyn; and his siblings, Jerry, Laura and Debra. He is also survived by his family, friends.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Lompoc Cemetery.

“Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I grew up with all of the Chastain kids when we lived in the Hilltop Trailer Court in Grand Rapids, MI. He was a very nice young man. I lost track of him as we grew older. We were a tight knit group from the trailer park and the one thing I remember most was that his brother, Harold, and my sister, Barbara (Lamb) had a pretend marriage ceremony when they were in the fifth grade with all of us in attendence. What a group we were. Again, sorry for your loss.”
