We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2022, at the age of 83, Roderic Schmidt Jr. of Lompoc, California passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roderic Schmidt Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Schmidt and Roderic Schmidt; and his brothers, Mike and Ben. He is survived by: his son Kurt (Julie); his wife Barbara Schmidt; his son Dan (Kim); his grandchildren, Zach, Conner, Ellie, Ginny and Paige; and his sisters, Julie Cudworth and Kathy Durfee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vandenberg Village Library, AYSO or Santa Barbara Food Bank.

“So sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Schmidt was one of the best teachers ever. He was intelligent, articulate, great sense of humor, and really pushed and challenged students to be creative. He taught them to set goals to actualize their potential. He inspired others and was truly unique. He was definitely one of my very favorite teachers. I have taught 27 years now, and was thankful to see Mr. Schmidt later in life and acknowledge his contribution to mine and so many other students’ lives. 💕🙏”
