“I recently read a letter from Nov. 18, 1956 from my mother Mary (Frans sister in law) to my mother's aunt and uncle in Canada. My mom was pregnant with me and due in 11 days. We know Aunt Fran and mom were close, you could tell by her other letters. She mentioned that Fran was coming out for Thanksgiving and hoped I would arrive soon enough to have Fran be my godparent during her visit. I arrived 2 weeks over due date so Fran missed that shot, lol. Aunt Fran was a beauty, sweet and funny.”

“I remember how very kind Aunt Fran was to my mom, my sister and me after my father died. She invited us out to California and took us to the most amazing places. I might have never been to any place like Disneyland in my childhood if not for her. She seemed bigger than to life to me, so adventurous, bright and glamorous with her frosted hair that was the peak of style at the time. Her laugh always made us laugh, too. I will never forget her kindness at one of the darkest times of my childhood.”
