Gaynell Mitchell Obituary

Gaynell Mitchell passed away at the age of 98 on 11/2/22, at home with her daughter, Jeri. She was a strong, resilient, remarkable woman, whose life spanned almost a century. Born in a small Virginia town in the Cumberland Mtns, she came to Los Angeles in 1955, where she resided until her death, spending most of her years in Los Feliz..
She was a proud member of the retail clerk's union, then called Local 770, for more than 40 years. She loved the Lord, Elvis, the Dodgers and Hawaii, as well as her beloved daughter, Jeri, and son-in-law, Dan, who preceded her in death in 2019. She traveled to all the islands of Hawaii many times and loved them all. She enjoyed movies, theatre, and the LA Philharmonic She will be treasured and missed by her many life-long friends. Despite her numerous physical limitations, she never lost her joy for life or her love for the Lord.
Her service will be graveside at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on 11/28/22. Rest in Peace, Mom.
