She is survived by: her parents, Jennifer and John; her siblings, Berkeley, Savannah, Travis, Jackson, Rio, Alton, Diego, Aurora and Brighton; her uncle Chris "Goofy"; her aunt Meghan; her cousins, Roro, Lili and Leo; and her grandfather Douglas O'Callaghan.

To honor Dakota's memory, donations can be made in her memory to the Trevor Project – which supports a suicide hotline for LGBTQ+ youth.
