He was predeceased by: his father Benjamin Villanueva; his nephew Benny Villanueva; and his grandparents, Arnoldo, Evelia Ortiz, Gonzalo and Delfina Villanueva.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Katie" Villanueva; his children, Omar, Audrey, Alexis, David and Amelia Villanueva; his mother Blanca Villanueva; his siblings, Lorena Villanueva, Ben Villanueva, Zoyla Torres (Victor), Alejandra Villanueva, Arnulfo Villanueva and Roberto Villanueva; his parents-in-law, Richard Teicheira and Kerry Teicheira; his siblings-in-law, Chris (Marina), Richie Teicheira and Andrea Hiatt (Brock); and his godchildren, Victor "Hugo" Torres and Riley Rodriguez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
