He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Riet and Alice van Riet; and his brother Gerrit van Riet. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Julie Asera (Loren) and Christie Ziegler (Tom); his grandchildren, Alex Asera (Aidan Ramey), Avery Asera and Ari Asera; and his brother Alan van Riet.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Deegan-Ripon Memorial Chapel (111 Palm Ave, Ripon, CA 95366). A reception will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Spring Creek Country Club (1580 Spring Creek Dr, Ripon, CA 95366).
