He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Bo, Florence Vastbinder, Thomas and Anna Hearron; his parents, Harold Freeman Vastbinder and Vera Belle Hearron; and his siblings, Eugene Wendel, Betty Roberta, Richard Dale, William Leroy and Harold Freeman Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Marie Ernst; and his children, Kim Marie Gurden, Vicki Michele Thompson, Nancy Lynn Cousland and Susan Elizabeth Apodaca. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
