She was predeceased by : her parents, Percy Slack and May Slack (Presley); her husband Lowell A. Stringfellow; her son Lowell Alan; her grandson Casey; and her sister Bettie Killgore (Slack).

She is survived by : her daughter Diane Barbara of Durham; and her granddaughters, Lisa Davis (Donnie) of Quincy, Michele Warren of Litchfield, Suzan Hickman of Chico and Sabrina Barbara of Durham. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

Donald (Frank) Dawson wrote a sympathy message

“Clara saved me by taking into their family and allow me to graduate from Quincy High School. Without going into my story and history, let me say that I found myself stranded and with no place to live in order to graduated from High School. Clara stepped forward and took me in to her home and treated my like a son. This allowed me to Graduate and go on to have a good career in the military then at a major university. Without her generosity I do not know what would have become of me.”
