In the vast expanse of eternity, Roderick shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Roderick farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roderick Sheridan Cooney and Sally Davis Cooney; and his sister Catherine Marie Cooney. He is survived by: his children, Shalin Butterworth (David Butterworth) and Roderick Cooney (Jodi Charter); and his grandchildren, Ashlin and Brixton Butterworth.
Roderick found a deep sense of peace and connection with nature, and would be honored if those who loved him made a donation to the Friends of Big Bear Valley in support of the eagles he loved to watch, planted a tree or flowers in his memory, paused to enjoy a sunset, or shared a favorite memory with his family.
