He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Butler Thompson and Mina Caroline Thompson (Lindsholm); his brothers, George (Eleanore), Oren (Gloria) and Charles (Jeanne); and his son-in-law Sidney Resnick.
He is survived by: his significant other Charlene Thompson (Smith); and his children, Richard L. Thompson (Robin), Jenny Moon, Julianne Resnick (Thompson), Gary Scott Thompson (Dori Jacobs) and Diana Davidson (Bill). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
