He was predeceased by: his wife Jan (Diesel); his parents, Joseph Hal and Doris; and his brothers, Hugh and Doug.

He is survived by: his children, Dustin, Stacey (Frank), Tracey (Bud), Danna (Allen), Bryan (Claudia) and Ken; and his brothers, Ron (Nancy) and Guy. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
