He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Gannon and Antoinette Gannon (Nugent). He is survived by: his significant other James Rytuba; his siblings, Maureen Cusick, Kathy Gannon (Gene Vactor), Tom Gannon (Joanne) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mike Gannon (Holly) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and David Gannon of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his nieces and nephews, Kelly Caputo, Jamie Fenwick, Caitlan Paschalides, Brian Gannon, Matt and Steve Cusick; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Louie, Ava, Finn, Addy, Joey, Livi, Michael, Shane, Griffin and Jack.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes (222 Washington Rd, South Hills, PA 15216). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Bernard Church (St. Michael the Archangel Parish) (311 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216).
At Chevron Research, he made important contributions to the development of gasoline additives that came into widespread use.
