It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Eugene Atkinson of Merced, California, born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leander Atkinson and Emma Taylor Atkinson; his siblings, Dorothy Atkinson, Theodore Atkinson, Oscar Atkinson, Elsie Havens, Nellie Ray and Patricia Atkinson; and his grandson Joshua Wilkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jean "Laurie" Crawford Atkinson; his children, Pamela Atkinson, Charles Eugene "Chip" Atkinson, Jr. (LeAnn), Valerie Wilkinson (Merlin), Bruce Atkinson (Junae) and Michele Evans (Steve); and his sister Edith Ebersbach. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
