He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Gonzales and Connie Gonzales; and his stepdaughter Jenel Kilkeary. He is survived by: his wife Blanca; his brothers, Art "Slim" and Edward "Smack" Gonzales; his children, David Gonzales, April Tinsley, Marian Ismael and Athina Phillips; his stepson Justin Hamilton; his sons-in-law, David "Fatso" Ismael and Wayne Phillips; his nephews, Eddie Gonzales and Manuel Byrd; his grandson Jonathan Garcia Jr.; his son-in-law Scott Tinsley; and his grandson Aiden Phillips. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home (1490 B St, Merced, CA 95340). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (260 W Childs Ave, Merced, CA 95341). A reception will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home (1490 B St, Merced, CA 95340). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025.
