It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Eugene Richels of Merced, California, born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, who passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Richels and Lerna Richels; his brothers, Gerry, Michael and James Richels; and his children, Charles Burkett, Donald Burkett, Connie Edwards and Sandra Eastep.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Richels; and his sons, Steve Burkett, Mike Stockton, Robert Stockton and Scott Whitley. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
