He is survived by: his wife Joan Sherry; his children, Nancy Butera (Dominic), Joseph Sherry (Deborah) and Christopher Sherry (Sheryl); his grandchildren, Alexander Sherry (Larissa), Vincent Butera, Danielle Kneidl (Steven), Joseph Sherry, Christina Romano (John), Nicholas Butera, Christopher Sherry and Andrea Sherry; and his great grandchildren, John Kneidl, Elizabeth Kneidl, Benjamin Kneidl, Everett Kneidl, Gabriella Kneidl and Giovanni Romano.
Only the COVID-19 pandemic finally brought his remarkable tenure to a close.
His contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the Soccer Old Timers Association of California Hall of Fame memorializing his lasting impact on the soccer community.
