Jose Maravilla Jr. Obituary
Jose Maravilla Jr., aged 73, passed away at his home in California on July 26, 2024. Born on March 10, 1951, in Indio, California, he dedicated his life to education and nurturing young minds. Jose embarked on his teaching journey in Salinas, CA, and concluded his career in 2020 with Modesto City Schools.
Jose was a loving husband to Teresa Maravilla, whom he married on May 22, 1993, in Reno, NV. He was a devoted father to Omero Orozco, Sandra Aguilar, Estrella Moreno, Crystal Maravilla, and Esmeralda Maravilla, and cherished his four grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Rita Pacheco Maravilla, and his son, Angel Guerrero.
An alumnus of Fresno State, Jose was not only passionate about education but also an avid sports enthusiast. His ever-present smile and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Jose's life at the Turlock Funeral Home on Monday, August 5, 2024, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a rosary at 12:30 p.m. and a funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Turlock Memorial Park.
