Michael Ray Cockrum Obituary
In Loving Memory of Michael Ray Cockrum “Mike” or “Uncle Mike” of Modesto, received his Angel wings on June 9, 2026. He was 69 years old.
Mike was born March 13, 1957, in San Jose, CA to the proud parents of Joseph Lee Cockrum and Virginia Cockrum
Mike is survived by his wife Judy Cockrum, brother Dale Cockrum, Grandson, Michael Cockrum and Granddaughter, Sarah Cockrum. He was preceded in death by his son Damien Cockrum, father, Joseph Lee Cockrum, mother, Virginia Cockrum, brother Joseph Cockrum Jr, sister, Linda Cockrum and sister Alice Sanchez.
Mike worked as a maintenance supervisor for a local hotel in Modesto for a few decades. He was extremely respected by all. He was known for his humbleness, kind heart, extreme passion of gardening and dedication to all his family and friends. Uncle Mike cherished his time with friends and family. He always lent a helping hand to all that knew him and would always go out of his way. Mike was a jack of all trades and could turn a run-down kitchen into a beautiful family eatery. His friends and family will miss him greatly!
Mike proudly served in the US Army from 1974-1976 and received an honorable discharge.
A Veterans Memorial service will be held at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), located at the outside park at 2801 W. Hatch Road, Modesto, CA 95358 on Friday, July 24, 2026 @ 10am.
