She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria José (Costa) and José Vieira (Costa); her husband Manuel S. Mello; her son Manuel "Junior" Mello; her sister Maria Meneses Costa; and her granddaughter Crista Marie Bohnke.
She is survived by: her children, Joe Manuel Mello (Edwina) of Turlock, Maria, Dores Bohnke of Modesto and Deborah Costa Leonardes (Jorge) of Hilmar; her siblings, José Meneses, Manuel, Santos Meneses Costa (Lucia) of Terceira, Carmo Meneses Costa and Rocha (Clemente) of Boston; and her grandsons, Emanuel Mello (Shawna), Gabriel Leonardes, Michael Bohnke, Andre Leonardes, Jeremiah Leonardes and Moises Leonardes.
