He is survived by: his wife Lubertha McCready-Hodges; his brothers, Ulysses Clayborn and Daniel Clayborn; his daughters, Patricia Simpson, Barbara Wright, Marilyn Jones and Dawn Hodges; his grandchildren, Dominique Simpson, Sherman Simpson Jr., Sakeetra Mims and Jimmy Awolesi Jr.; and his godson Zayden Zepeda.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Turner & Stevens-Live Oak Mortuary (200 E Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rose Hills Memorial Park (3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, CA 90601). A repast was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
