Josefina Guerrero Obituary

Josefina who was known to so many who loved her as 'PINA'; 'Doña Chepis' or 'Doña Jose' was born in the picturesque valley of the musically gifted town of Tecalitlan, Jalisco in Mexico which is known for the best Mariachi band in the World. Josefina was the fourth daughter and one of ten children born to Natividad Licea and Mercedes Valencia on April 29, 1950. A mother of eight children herself Josefina, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2021 at her home in Montclair, Ca. from health complications as a direct result of a massive stroke she suffered several years ago.

A well-liked homemaker, Josefina was known for being a person who helped family, friends, neighbors and strangers. She had an unparalleled talent for cooking Mexican homemade dishes and she had a way to make people smile and feel better even when they were going through there worse moments. Josefina had a knack for putting together family gatherings, reunion and parties whereby many would come from all over Southern Ca. just to get a chance to eat her typical Mexican dishes like tamales, birria, tacos de cabeza, menudo, pozole, mole and so many other spicy but exquisite cuisines. Her most treasured trait was being that ear that so many used to express and vent their concerns. Those her knew her trusted that when they asked for advice, they would get honest, wise and spiritually sound feedback. Josefina opened the hearts of many people with her laughter, smile and kindness and made friends wherever she went.

Josefina's most profound Love was the Lord Jesus Christ and even when she was struck with a massive stroke, she never stopped praising and praying to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always trusted till the very end that God would bring her home. In those last few years, she boldly, bravely and gracefully suffered of the side effects of this massive stroke but managed to spend several quality years with her eight children, her husband, grandchildren and the rest of her family. She is survived by her husband Juan A Guerrero, her first born daughter Sandra Guerrero de Volkman, Erik I Guerrero, Marisol Guerrero de Tamayo, Pablo Guerrero, John Guerrero, Josie Guerrero de Alas, Charles Guerrero and Alejandro Licea and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
